Ivette has had the opportunity to work in the field of burns since 1998, starting in
Nicaragua in a Pediatric Burn Unit. As a medical doctor and administration director of a
pediatric burn unit and rehabilitation center between 1998 and 2016.
In Taiwan since 2021 as an advisor, she has participated in the Spanish localization of
E-Learning trainings at Sunshine Social Welfare Foundation (SSWF), and the
development of a learner network of Latin American therapists.
She contributes her experience in burns accumulated over the years, combined with
strong networking skills and administrative abilities.
Ivette is familiar with the day-to-day management of an organization and its projects.
Over the years, she has also led her team in the development of many innovative
projects focusing on burn education and burn prevention, including a major regional
training program that organized over 30 workshops for Central American professionals,
as well as the first burn Prevention Program in Nicaraguan Elementary Schools.
In addition, she has played an active role in the international burn community through
her participation in various committees of the INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR BURN
INJURIES (ISBI) and the Latin American Burn Federation (FELAQ).
